Therapist Overview

I emphasize diversity, creativity, and inclusion in my practice. I recognize the effects of the larger societal and cultural environment in which identity and relationships around sexual orientation and class are shaped. It is my goal to promote the process of healing by helping clients cultivate an understanding within themselves that can help unveil the deeper meaning their struggle is pointing towards. I have worked with individuals experiencing emotional dysregulation, addiction, trauma, depression, homelessness, poverty, HIV/AIDS, LGB+ and transgender marginalization. My approach is relational and strengths-based, influenced by queer theory and feminist thought. My interventions are often motivational and include the practice of mindfulness. There is wisdom and truth to be found within the struggles that we face. I believe that you have the ability to develop a deeper knowledge and acceptance of these conflicts and the strength to move forward in your life. The road forward is often a vulnerable one. I am grateful for the trust that you may bring to the process.
