( English | español ) “And I said to my body. Softly. ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath and replied ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.”Nayyirah Waheed- Have you been holding on to physical or emotional weight that you feel ready to let go of? Are you ready to reconnect with the innate wisdom of your body? It is my belief that you already possess all of the solutions to your problems somewhere within your body and your mind. I work with weightloss in a unique way, by helping you get to the root of the issue. Whether its a childhood trauma or an unhealthy coping skill, together in collaboration with your body lets find the answer. I earned both my undergraduate degree in psychology(2008) as well as my master’s in professional counseling(2011) from Georgia State University. I began my career working mainly with survivors of trauma. I believe that trauma is a part of life and began noticing a strong correlation between trauma, anxiety, and emotional eating and weight gain. This belief coupled with my passion for fitness and nutrition has emerged as a clinical focus for my practice. I am currently working on acquiring a nutrition certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I enjoy assisting adult clients with a wide variety of mental health issues including anxiety, PTSD, loss & grief, and emotional eating. “Y le dije a mi cuerpo. Suavemente.
