Andrew Xavier Feeney

Helping clients to recover from trauma and other adverse life experiences, anxiety, and depression is the focus of my practice. I have worked with combat veterans, survivors of sexual abuse/assault, those who have experienced traumatic loss from death or infidelity, individuals suffering from addiction, and others working through traumatic adjustments such as loss of a job or severe illness. I have also counseled couples working to improve their relationships, those discerning their futures, and others contemplating separation or divorce. Helping individuals and couples to improve their parenting skills is also a passion for me. My approach is rooted in acceptance of and respect for clients’ histories and cultural influences. I use cognitive, existential, and behavioral approaches combined with mindfulness techniques. My training includes EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples. I am also a Certified Recovery Coach. Healing in therapy is a highly individual process but is always built on a foundation of trust, safety, and empowerment.
