Therapist Overview
We face so many important life challenges- grief, loss, parenting struggles, transitions, or falling “out of sync with” a partner or spouse, to name a few. I provide a safe, warm, and non-judgmental environment for individuals and couples to feel heard and understood, and to work towards desired changes. I will collaborate with you to help you reduce your levels of stress, anxiety and/or depression, identifying and activating previously unrecognized strengths. I will challenge your assumptions about your limitations, as well as other negative thoughts, so you can achieve a higher level of functioning and greater emotional freedom. I work with adults and couples, drawing from a variety of approaches, especially psychodynamic, family systems, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. My Emotionally Focused Therapy training helps me guide couples back to each other, and I use EMDR to address trauma. My corporate background enables me to better assist you with career-related stresses and transitions. The therapeutic relationship can be an important catalyst for change, so it is critical you find a therapist with whom you fit well. I would be happy to provide a free 20-minute phone consultation to see if we may be a good fit. If we determine we are not a good fit, I will work to help you identify your next step.
