I hope to positively impact the African American community, and all communities, by decreasing the stigma of mental health and offering a place for people of color to utilize therapy and live in more authentic and whole ways. I work with communication, anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, low self-worth, shame, body image, substance use, teen families, parenting, affair repair, coping skills, trust, emotional intimacy, connection, and the impact of oppression. I help individuals to unlearn who they think they ‘should’ be and JUST BE. Just being is enough. Couples often get stuck in cycles that push them apart. We are built to connect, even if this is contrary to our lived experience. I help couples create a secure bond: to feel safe, vulnerable, open, responsive, and accessible. I believe these tools support couples to express their emotional needs and re-create the love, intimacy, and trust they once felt. As a family grows, the way we connect. parent, and communicate must also change and adapt. I work with teens and their families dealing with low self-worth or trauma, often showing up as anxiety and depression, and help them to heal and find their voice, especially where they have experienced oppression and discrimination based on the color of their skin.
