Life is hard, yet once you have a child who is disabled, life can feel unmanageable. There is so much to worry about and struggle with. You and your child may feel isolated, mis-understood and different from family and friends. How do you explain to others why your child isn’t interacting with children their own age? And…… why are they acting so differently? Interactions with your spouse and your other children are often greatly impacted since you give so much of your time and self to your disabled child. Your spouse may disagree with your approach, leaving you feeling that much more alone and misunderstood. My specialty lies in working with parenting difficult children & the effects it has on the individual, family and marriage. I work primarily with parents & families with children who are are autistic, dev. disabled, adhd, sensory, oppositional defiant, anxious & depressed.
