Therapist Overview
My approach to counseling adults and teenagers involves creating a safe environment for clients to examine their fears and their desires. While the client takes the lead, I refuse to be one of those “head-nodding” counselors. I believe counseling is an interactive, sacred experience that can help all clients that are willing to be honest with themselves. Prior to my dream job as a counselor, I was a certified K-12 teacher. I am proud of the 30 years I spent in education, because it is there that I learned how to connect with children. I also learned about the needs and trials of their parents. I enjoy working with adults because I am in awe of any age client who is a survivor. I utilize an Existential approach in counseling which encourages clients to look within to rediscover the self he or she has denied, repressed or forgotten.
