Therapist Overview
The purpose of psychotherapy is to improve quality of life. For some, this means learning how negative thinking is creating negative feelings, and creating new ways of looking at concerns. For others, therapy can help improve communicating with others. Sometimes illnesses prevent us from functioning the way we typically do; therapy can not only provide support and hope, and help you find ways to continue to enjoy life. I don’t “force” the process; we move at your pace, with gentle encouragement to challenge yourself to try new things and think in new directions. I hold a doctorate in clinical health psychology. I have an interest in working with those with medical concerns including chronic pain and autoimmune disorders. In these situations, we not only work on maintaining a sense of hope and purpose, but also addressing psychological factors that may be exacerbating the illness. I’m part of a large group practice, and have the privilege of collaborating with psychiatrists and therapis
