Therapist Overview
The impacts of racism, colonization, capitalism, patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and the many other harmful -isms within our current social paradigm in the midst of a global pandemic no less, impacts our psyches, our nervous systems, and capacity to imagine and create the future. What if you had a safe space to pause and breathe? A space for you to exist authentically, to be seen and heard, to express unabashedly, and to tap into your creativity, imagination and the inherent wisdom of the universe within you? However our work may look, I am here to witness and support your unique life journey now and into the future. My therapeutic approach is social justice-oriented and holistic. As someone who believes in the strong connection between the mind, body and spirit, I offer somatic-cultural and politicized therapy which considers the body an insightful informant of your experience in the world, and an entry point for addressing and healing trauma. As a granddaughter of ancestors who’ve lived through the atrocities of war and as a queer womxn who was born in Japan and raised in the U.S., it’s especially important for me to co-create healing spaces with people of multicultural and intersectional identities. I speak English, Japanese and Spanish and am happy to incorporate these languages in our work.
