Therapist Overview
My practice focuses on people with special needs with a particular specialty in serving people on the Autism Spectrum. I am unique for being someone who has studied the subject at Boston University (Doctorate in Education and Master’s in Social Work), having experience working with such clients for 12 years, and having raised a son with autism (many years as a single parent). I am interested in working with client’s on their symptoms, such as anxiety, and on their adjustments into being part of society. I am also interested in working with their parents. My dissertation focused on the support needs of fathers of children with ASD. I understand what it is like to be a parent of a child or adult with autism. As someone who also identifies as having characteristics of the Broader Autism Phenotype (BAP), I also understand and have the experience of empathizing with the challenges and struggles of clients with ASD or other disabilities.
