Therapist Overview
His belief is that somewhere along a person’s life path they have lost the way. It also is his belief that each client has the answer to the problem(s) they are seeking treatment for. He views the counseling relationship as a collaborative effort, one where the client is the expert about, well, the client, and the counselor is the student, learning what it means to be the client by using enhanced listening and communication skills together with knowledge of what it means to be human, thus improving the client’s personal happiness and function. Areas of treatment interest are trauma, attachment parenting, women in transition, anxiety/depression and couples. Since counseling is an individualize process the client is in the driver’s seat as they are the expert about themselves. It is the counselor’s goal to gain enough understanding of what brought the client to seek treatment at this time so to better develop individualized treatment and to create a strong and empathetic treatment partnership.
