Therapist Overview
Human existence is challenging. Maneuvering through life can mean facing trauma, abuse, loss, change or illness. Therapy facilitates the process of sorting through thoughts and feelings to access a deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself and your relationships. Often we face childhood attachment trauma: physical or emotional separation from our family of origin in our younger years. The effects of early trauma can often be seen in behaviors at school, at work, in our relationships and in our parenting. Through the therapeutic process, our ability to nurture and maintain attachment bonds may be both healed and strengthened. Unresolved thoughts and feelings around trauma can result in anxiety, depression and various mood/personality disorders. My experience and training in various therapeutic interventions including the deeper work of the psychodynamic process assists in our jointly developing an understanding of the uniqueness of you and/or your child. Together, we have the opportunity to reduce symptoms, gain clarity, strengthen relationships and learn to move through life with more ease. I draw on over 20 years of experience with children, families and adults as well as intensive education and training in Child and Human Development and a genuine love for emotional and psychological growth in people.
