Therapist Overview
My vision for therapy is to provide a safe, fun, and comfortable space, where every part of you is accepted and valued. Starting with our first session and continuing throughout out time together, I will complete thorough assessments to explore the best approach to supporting your individual needs. I have found that the most important thing in therapy is to keep the relationship at the center. I am a strong believer in understanding the motives and needs underlying our thoughts and behaviors, while exploring how they serve to protect us. If we can shift the kaleidoscope of life ever so slightly, a new reality is possible. I work with children, teens, & adults on handling the many challenges that one may face in today’s world. Those challenges may be overwhelming and you may feel stuck. You may envision something in your life being different. You may sense your child or teen is struggling and may benefit from support. Therapy is one tool to add to your established resources. With all my clients, I strive to apply the principles of creativity and exploration during our time together. As a Registered Play Therapist I primarily play therapy with children, as play is their language. Even adults can benefit from more play! I also pull from mindfulness practices, CBT, somatic/body work, and parts works (IFS) frameworks.
