Therapist Overview
When pain lingers long enough or becomes greater than our resistance to seeking help, we finally become willing to do whatever it takes for relief. Psychological and emotional distress affects sleep, eating behaviors, abuse of alcohol and other drugs, our well-being, and our ability to function at home, at work, at school, and in our relationships. We’re often left with fear, anxiety, anger, frustration, confusion, depression, self doubt, failure, hopelessness, and even total despair. Therapy offers relief from mental and emotional distress. We find out what’s causing the pain, and we create new patterns of behavior that bring better experiences, better days, better relationships, and better control in our lives. Is there pain, anger, conflict, self-doubt, or confusion in your life? I studied therapy and became a therapist 20 years ago after seeing how powerful it could be in peoples’ lives. I saw the difference it made in people who were suffering. I watched people become free, even from years of torment and confusion, as they found grounding, meaning, and real connection in their lives. Pain is inevitable. Misery is optional.
