Therapist Overview
It is sometimes difficult to understand how all our well intended efforts to feel good about ourselves and our relationships have been unsatisfying rather than satisfying. In fact, there have been disappointments, frustrations, and sadness that are sometimes painful and challenging to manage alone (or with individuals in our lives who may care but do not understand us). I am available as a professionally trained therapist to work with you on your concerns related to circumstances that have become problematic for you. My style is interactive and collaborative along with using several therapeutic methods to address your concerns. I am trained in the Interpersonal Relational (psychodynamic) approach which explores how past childhood relationships influences our capacity to function effectively and safely in our adult relationships. I also use a Cognitive – Behavioral approach (which identifies specific thoughts and behaviors that are counterproductive) as a therapeutic intervention. My goal as a therapist is to maintain a non-judgmental stance in a supportive space for you to talk about the challenges in your life, at your own pace. I am a compassionate therapist who takes great interest in working collaboratively and with cultural sensitivity.
