Elizabeth Torres

I am a good fit if you are looking for a highly-experienced, collaborative, pragmatic, and solution-oriented therapist. I am experienced working with men and women dealing with a wide-range of issues. My early training in psychodynamic psychotherapy gives me a rich perspective to draw on. I am mostly a cognitive behavioral therapist, informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, with a heavy emphasis on acceptance, mindfulness, and self-compassion. I recently published “Just This Moment: A Guide for Moms who want to enjoy Parenting, Raise Great Kids, and THRIVE!” available on Amazon. While I specialize in treating mothers, I am also interested in working with those who are not mothers. I see both individuals and couples (married and unmarried), and welcome LGBTQ clients. I seek to be short-term and present-focused, encouraging the development of skills and strategies. I will work collaboratively with you to individualize your care. I have recently moved back to CA after living/working in the Boston area for 24 years as a therapist, supervisor at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School, and trainer.
