I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been practicing in the mental health field for 8 years. I have worked with adults who have co-occurring Substance Abuse and Mental Health concerns, HIV/AIDS, Probation/Parole. I have extensive experience with teenagers who have behavioral problems, mental health issue, and attachment dysfunction. My primary focus has been on helping youth negotiate the, often difficult tasks of growing up. In particular, I am interested in foster care and adoptive homes and how to improve overall communication, build more adaptive structures, and develop appropriate expectations. I utilizes several, evidenced based, treatment models such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, and attachment treatment. I also have experience working with preschool aged children providing behavioral management techniques, social skills training, and parenting education. I use a client centered approach where I collaborate with the client, the family, and the community in developing treatment goals. I provide the added benefit of engaging in an In-Home based therapy.
