Therapist Overview
Working in a variety of social work and mental health settings over the past 15 years, has taught me to implement a straightforward, nonjudgmental, compassionate, and empathetic approach, when working with people. As an interactive therapist, I offer a safe and supportive environment, where I encourage people to utilize their voice, not only to build on their own strengths and resiliency, but to collaborate together to address their needs and goals during this process. Areas of particular interest include: dual diagnosis, depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma and PTSD, domestic violence, domestic abuse, relationship issues, self-esteem, codependency issues, and working with women’s issues. I have facilitated STEPPs groups for adults who have difficulty regulating their emotions. I work best with adolescents, young adults and adults including individuals and families. I understand taking the first step can be difficult and feel uncomfortable when it comes to self-care. However, I encourage this first step and to quote Brene Brown, “We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.”
