Therapist Overview
An increasing amount of people are experiencing stress, anxiety, and other uncomfortable emotions regarding the current state of our world. Now more than ever, it is especially important to take care of our emotional health as well as our physical. There are many different approaches to therapy and it is not “one size fits all.” As a therapist with extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I integrate this theory with other treatment modalities to help address a wide range of issues. Most importantly, I focus on building a strong interpersonal bond with each of my clients through curiosity, understanding, and compassion. As humans, we all have the tendency to think negatively because our brain tries to protect us from harm. However, too much negative thinking can eventually lead to anxiety or depression. As a CBT therapist, I help my clients learn to identify and change unhelpful thoughts, become more in touch with emotions, and help them gain control of their reactions. I also draw on other evidence-based treatments, such as mindfulness and relaxation training. These treatments are effective for mood disorders, sleep disorders, trauma, and chronic pain. I believe that with your expertise on YOU and my proficiency in therapy, together we can work to reduce your symptoms and improve your overall sense of well-being.
