We tend to hold onto stress in the least noticeable ways and subtle changes can help bring awareness to our stress patterns. My overall approach to therapy is emotion-focused and strength-based, while incorporating neuropsychology and somatic interventions. I cater each session to my client’s individual needs, goals, and personality style. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help individuals discover what gets in the way of positive change and increase a deeper connection to oneself. During the day, I work at a jail providing individual and group therapy for male and female inmates, working on severe and persistent mental illness, severe trauma, and severe substance use. I specialize in trauma recovery work, relationship and intimacy issues, sexual orientation/sexual identity, grief and loss, relapse prevention, and life transitions. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, I am EMDR trained, and I am Level 1 certified in Gottman method couples therapy and am a few classes away from my Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC).
