I work with clients who are dealing with symptoms of developmental and relational trauma, families who are experiencing conflict and/or parenting struggles, youth and families who are struggling with adoption or foster care, individuals who are experiencing anxiety and depression, people who are grieving or going through changes in their lives, and people who are wanting to learn more tools to cope with stress and many other symptoms. Clients that I work with are most often looking to understand the source of their distress, to learn skills to cope and/or change their situation, and to build a healthier, more fulfilling life. I use attachment, behavioral, narrative, mindfulness, and family systems modalities to help clients begin to listen to themselves more deeply, find comfort and safety, and navigate the world with new skill and understanding. I also have advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I see therapy as a collaborative process through which clients can develop understanding of their past and present, find a stronger sense of self, build a set of reliable ways to cope with adversity, pain or discomfort, and explore sources of joy, fulfillment, and happiness.
