Therapist Overview
On the outside you’ve managed to hold it together, but on the inside you are just freaking exhausted. You’d give anything for just one. calm. day. Things are getting out of control, and you’re not sure where to turn to next. You’ve read the blogs and the books, you’ve Googled it, you’ve talked to your doctor, you got your neighbor’s advice… but it’s just not working. It’s so hard to watch them struggle. You want less insanity and more connection. You want them to reach their full potential. You are starting to feel more isolated–people don’t get it. I thrive on trying to understand kids better and building connections through play therapy, where they can express their experiences in a more natural, self-guided way and gain some awareness of what’s bothering them. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavior Modification techniques, depending on what areas of concern are being presented. Parenting can also be ridiculously difficult. No one was handed a manual (but that would’ve been super helpful!)! I love working with parents and families to help them gain insight into their family dynamics, learn more effective ways to meet the needs of their kids, and create the atmosphere they are striving for. It can get better–so let’s get started!
