Therapist Overview
In my work with clients I prefer to maintain a holistic focus on the individual. No matter what you are struggling with I find it hard to imagine that there is only one way of looking at it to understand the problem. My goal in therapy is to have my clients walk away from therapy with new insights and goals so that they can orient themselves towards change. Knowing what it is that you want out of life can be incredibly powerful and therapy can be a great opportunity for growth. My background consists of working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence and sexual assault. This has allowed me to work through issues such as trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and relational problems. I utilize skills and techniques from both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Existential Therapy. I believe that therapy should be a place in which individuals feel safe to explore their inner world as a result of the relationship that is created between therapist and client. Two powerful factors of change in therapy is the relationship and the client’s willingness to change.
