Therapist Overview
NOTE: I AM NOT TAKING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME. My passion is helping children and adults heal from past trauma and its lasting effects. I most often work with clients experiencing PTSD, depression, relationship issues, and/or anxiety related to their past traumatic experiences. Many children with traumatic pasts have challenging behaviors, and their caregivers find themselves overwhelmed and searching for help. I often work with foster families and post-adoptive families, helping them become more connected, use effective parenting strategies, and helping the child to heal from their trauma and have greater emotional regulation. I use EMDR and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy to help my client’s heal. Depending on the client’s needs, we will meet in my office, in the round pen with the horses, or outside in nature. My office is on 80 acres in Barnardsville, with creeks, bunnies, a low-ropes course and other elements to help children and families engage in joyful activities together. If you are interested in beginning the journey of healing, and would like to have the option of working with horses or being in nature, outside of an office, I would love to hear from you. Or, perhaps you are a caregiver of a child with a traumatic past–I assure you that there is hope for a better future. I would love to help.
