Therapist Overview
I enjoy working with clients who want to improve the quality of their relationships. As part of supporting clients in addressing relationship issues, my work can involve working with clients on individual issues such as reducing depression and anxiety. I assist clients in exploring and processing feelings that contribute to depression and anxiety with the goal of promoting individual well-being which, in turn, contributes to improvement in relationships. I utilize a collaborative approach that involves supporting clients in understanding how past life experiences and current life issues are impacting their lives. Connecting clients with strengths is a primary treatment goal. I draw from the Cognitive Behavioral and Psychodynamic treatment models in addressing individual issues such as depression and anxiety. These models address how thoughts influence feelings and how a person’s family and life history influence current feelings and life functioning. For work with couples and families, I draw from Systems theory. I meet with clients in 2 locations in Mendocino County in Ukiah and Willits. I work with all age groups except ages 0-5. I work with individuals, couples, families, children, teens, and seniors. I have experience addressing substance use, gender, and HIV/AIDS issues.
