Therapist Overview
Engaging in therapy is a courageous, commendable task. I have enormous respect for the individuals, couples, and families I work with, and endeavor to create a solid base of trust and a collaborative connection. Depending on your needs and goals, our work may focus on improving your quality of life, shifting patterns, and/or deepening your overall self-awareness. I find that, along the way, healing often occurs as one gains clarity and begins moving toward the desires, needs, and truths that may have gotten lost amidst the ‘shoulds’ and various other messages absorbed over time. I draw from classical and contemporary psychoanalytic, existential, humanistic, relational-cultural, and mindfulness-based perspectives, and I am ever-cognizant of the role of culture in development, experiences, and needs. I’ve worked in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, residential treatment facilities, university counseling centers, outpatient programs, and private practice. I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families concerned with mood, anxiety, relationships, trauma, loss, grief, self-esteem, transitions, and life satisfaction. I have particular expertise in eating disorders, having provided leadership and treatment for individuals and their families at all levels of care, including inpatient hospitalization, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient.
