Therapist Overview
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor that follows a strength-based, client-centered approach. As a therapist, I believe it is important to be genuine in all aspects, while being able to utilize an eclectic approach in order to fit the needs of those seeking guidance. After graduating from Marywood University with a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I worked in both outpatient and inpatient settings and have gained experience working with those who struggle with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, chemical dependency, grief and loss, self-esteem, assertiveness, and relationships (couples families etc). I find that it is important to strive to maintain a trusting relationship with all clients while providing them with a safe and enjoyable environment. It is my hope to be as helpful as possible. “When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another”.
