Therapist Overview
Taking the first step to seek counseling takes courage. For some, it can be scary, intimidating and uncomfortable. My goal is to help make it one of the best decisions of your life. Because therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach, I integrate various treatment models and tailor them to an individual’s needs. My framework is person-centered therapy, meaning I work collaboratively with my clients to empower them and help them gain insight through a balance of acceptance and personal growth. Respect, empathy, genuineness, honesty and humor are offered in my sessions so that clients feel comfortable enough to openly explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. My “counseling” career began when I worked as a child protective services specialist in 1990. I was able to witness that with the right support, many went on to live better lives. As a result, I realized I desired to further help people attain healthier, happier, more peaceful lives.
