Therapist Overview

My name is Shannon and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with training in art therapy. I have an emphasis on serving LGBTQ+ and TGNC people, identity development, and supporting those experiencing minority stress. In my practice, I aspire to support you in building resilience, in crafting and owning your narratives in ways that honor your strengths and knowledge, and in partnering with you in the service of your therapeutic goals. As the former coordinator for Trans & Gender Non-Conforming mental health services at UW-Madison’s University Health Services, I have extensive experience providing counseling for TGNC and gender expansive people and in writing letters in support of HRT and gender affirming surgeries. Please feel free to get in touch to schedule an assessment in support of a letter for hormones or surgery, or to be placed on our waitlist for ongoing counseling. I am pleased to share that a new clinician will be starting at the Center for Community Healing on April 1, and this provider works with children ages 4+ as well as adults and couples
