Therapist Overview
I was first drawn to the field of counseling when my husband & I became therapeutic foster parents & adopted two beautiful children with special needs. I was deeply involved in therapy with them working to heal trauma & establish & solidify our attachments to each other. Although it has not been an easy road, I love the way our experience of therapy has helped our family & I hope to help others in their unique situations. I have an eclectic approach to counseling with a concentration in Client-Centered, Gestalt, & Existential therapy. I believe in taking a holistic approach exploring the connection between mind, body, & spirit. I have worked with a variety of presenting issues & ages such as bereavement in children & families, seniors struggling with their life transition & finding purpose, acute trauma, depression & anxiety in adolescents, adults, & geriatrics. I am also interested in; fostering & adoption, families of special needs, grief, infertility, parenting, PTSD, and more.
