She/Her/Hers
I often use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my practice. I assist clients in exploring the ways in which they may be stuck in a way of living that is unhelpful and unfulfilling. I help clients tap into their values, reduce avoidance patterns, and compassionately express their thoughts, emotions, and needs in hopes to achieve a more flexible, values-based, and wholesome way of living.
Therapist Overview
The greatest way to ‘get over’ something, is to go ‘through’ it in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. When life becomes challenging, you can oftentimes feel confused about where to turn. Perhaps you wish to discover the ways in which the past may be holding you back, better understand the reason why you’re feeling stagnant in the present, and explore why the future may feel so intimidating for you. You may need the help of others to feel stable again and seeking therapy is a brave and courageous first step. You can discover new ways of living that feel fulfilling in the here and now. You deserve to feel better, and I can help.
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Time Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP) to help teens, adults, couples, and families who may be struggling with low mood, worried thoughts, trauma, relationship issues, multicultural identity concerns, perinatal issues, and adjustment difficulties. You will learn new ways of thinking and behaving.
I will be a warm, compassionate, affirming, collaborative, and culturally humble support system for you. We can safely examine your pains and joys, explore emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and needs, and illuminate your numerous strengths. You are the expert on yourself, but together we can add more tools to your tool box to help you learn new ways of being.
