Therapist Overview
For the past 28 + years I have had the honor and privilege of working with men and women survivors of childhood sexual and physical abuse. Taking the first step of talking about these issues is hard, emotional and often painful. I believe that you must feel safe and honestly cared for to work through the shame, guilt and low self worth that often result from these experiences. I also firmly believe that no matter how long these feelings and memories have gone unexpressed, healing is possible and survivors can experience joy and love in their lives today. I work hard to create a safe, supportive office environment where you can be heard and understood. I will meet you where you are now in your life and help you do the work to heal and recover. I also lead ” Edgebrook, Moving Through Grief and Loss Workshops ” based on the work of Elisabeth Kubler Ross in Maine and NC I realize that survivors of domestic violence and all forms of childhood abuse can feel afraid, alone and reluctant to reach out for help. With a deep respect for those feelings I encourage you to take a risk and reach out for help. I am happy to meet with you to explore whether therapy with me can help you move forward in a positive and meaningful way.
