Whether you are in an intense crisis or an average healthy individual, the knowledge that comes from understanding the mind can improve your everyday functioning. Awareness of how our mind processes and forms linkages in the brain can improve how we think, how we feel, and how we act. We cannot control our thoughts, we cannot control other people, and we cannot control what has happened to us in the past. The only thing that we can control is our choices. Core belief represents our most fundamental thinking about the world we live in. The existence of a higher power, the meaning of life and death, and the nature of our reality are all views that can be confirmed or challenged within the therapeutic process. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 31 years and have a BA in Psychology from UH, UH Master’s program in Sociology, UH Master’s program in Educational Psychology, and pursual at UH of a PhD in Counseling Psychology. My professional experience has focused on researching evidence-based therapies and expedient, cost-effective treatments.
