Therapist Overview
Grief is involved in any life change, whether that change is welcome or unwelcome, abrupt or expected. Even though grief is part of being human, our society struggles to acknowledge it and my clients are looking for a grounded place for their grief to land. Some clients arrive grieving the death of a family member or friend, their own illness, or a loved one’s terminal status. Others seek help facing grief in relationship changes, life shifts such as adjusting to marriage and parenthood, missed opportunities, and current or past trauma. My clients want to process their grief so it does not define their lives. Grief therapy is different than other therapy approaches. I serve as a grounded companion, witness, and sherpa, offering structure, guidance, and wisdom that I have gathered from a myriad of grievers. My expertise is in providing my clients with pragmatic tools to navigate grief through its many phases so that grief does not define their lives. Grieving is exhausting–physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. It can be hard enough to buy groceries, let alone reach out for therapy. I want to make this first step as easy as possible. Send me your contact info and I’ll do the rest. I look forward to meeting you.
