Therapist Overview
Hi! I’m Kate, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, trained in Counseling and Psychotherapy, based in Kingston, NY. I have a masters in Human Sexuality from NYU, and a masters in Social Work from Fordham University, and almost ten years’ clinical experience. I work with young adults, and adults (both individuals and couples), helping them with a variety of issues. Are you feeling stressed? Are you feeling “stuck” in your current phase of life? Perhaps you’re feeling depressed or anxious? Or maybe you have concerns related to sexuality, gender and identity, or disability issues? I will listen closely and do my best to help! Clinically, I’m trained in modalities including CBT, DBT, creative therapies, mindfulness, and trauma work. I also have special training in disability, sexuality, relationships, LGBTQ culture, gender identity/fluidity and kink culture. But personally, frequent feedback I get is that I am a warm, caring, exceptional listener, who makes my clients feel safe… …And that’s what matters to me the most: I want to you to know that no matter what the problem, no matter how trapped, frustrated or confused you feel, you are not alone. I will listen deeply, with kindness, and use my clinical skills to try to help you explore and figure out how to cope with and/or master your issues.
