Therapist Overview
The goal of my practice is to help individuals and families navigate life’s stressors using mindfulness and acceptance-based treatments that are supported by research. Whether it is adjusting to a new phase in life, coping with a major health issue, or feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, I aim to help my clients gain a deeper understanding of their struggles, respond to their experience with compassion, and reduce unhelpful ways of reacting so that they can navigate whatever challenges arise. In addition to private practice, I work at the VA hospital and am co-director of our integrative health fellowship. Much of my experience has been working with individuals and couples who are new to therapy or have only previously tried medications for mood management. Seeking support – let alone from a stranger – can be daunting. If you are courageous enough to show up, you will benefit. If you’ve read this far, and you’re still not sure if therapy or my approach is right for you, call me for a free 20-minute consultation and we can chat about what might be the right fit for your needs.
