Jenny Sorensen

Through my own journey of healing and recovery, I felt called to this profession. I believe that my own personal struggle with addiction and childhood trauma helps me meet my clients with a sense compassion and hope for what recovery can offer. Many of my clients struggle with addiction, relational, or other issues typically resulting from maladative coping skills. My training taught me about the impact of childhood trauma on the developing brain and that “neurons that fired together wired together,” resulting in developmental immaturity and a dysregulated nervous system. In addition to my training with Pia Mellody, I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, EMDR trained and am a Certified Daring Way Facilitator. I help clients understand how adaptive patterns learned in childhood may be impacting their lives today. I try to meet clients where they are help them in achieving their goals.
