Therapist Overview
So many therapists, so little time. The good news? By the end of a short phone call, you’ll probably have a sense of whether I’m likely to be the one. By the end of your first session, you most likely will. Why? Well, there is something about the sense of comfort (or discomfort), awareness, and general experience that is critical to therapy being successful but is notoriously hard to tell in advance. Usually, you get a clear sense just from the phone call: Did you even get a call back from the therapist? Was it awkward? Easy? Did they really listen? What does your gut say? Ten minutes and you’re done done with the first part. If you get a good enough feeling to try an initial session, trust your gut and go for it. Anything short of a solid sense of confidence in your therapist will send a signal that you probably need to move on. Certainly by session 2 or 3, it’s clear whether this is the right direction for you. It’s my job to help you find relief, even in this tough process.
