Therapist Overview
Welcome. Perhaps like you, many of my clients suffer from childhood trauma and its symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, obsession, compulsion, behavioral addictions, and relationship problems, including shame, fear, and guilt. Relationship, trust, and safety are pillars of my practice. I also use dreams, embodied exercises, imaginal exercises, and other strategies to help resolve what brings you to psychotherapy. I am psychoanalytically and spiritually oriented. Lifespan Integration, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy are current evolutions of my practice. I have a special interest in treating individuals who, because of early emotional injury, are now “stuck” in painful patterns of living, which can be most acute in midlife. I also enjoy treating young adults struggling to separate from their parents. Such struggle also occurs in adults faced with caring for their aging parents. Couple work in my practice is centered on attachment bonds that threaten as well
