Seeking help isn’t easy, and it takes a certain amount of courage. Just like being human. One of the things I’ve learned in 20+ years as a practicing psychologist is that we all have reserves of courage within us-even when we’re feeling our worst. Having a compassionate and accepting person to talk to can help us find that courage and acceptance within ourselves. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, upset, or confused, or just think you might benefit from touching base with someone supportive and understanding, I would be happy to meet with you. I often draw upon my experience with meditation and Mindfulness-Based counseling approaches in my work. I’ve found that difficult thoughts and feelings can be easier to manage when we cultivate compassion for ourselves, within ourselves, and when we learn how to change our relationship with the mental chatter that can weigh us down.
