Therapist Overview
I strongly believe that connecting with nature has a positive influence on both the body and the mind. My private practice is located in a farmhouse built in 1850, set on 10 acres of land with walking trails, outdoor sitting areas and gardens. I have four dwarf pygmy goats, Billy, Marigold, Juniper and Ivy, that live on the property, as well as my dog Quincy, who enjoys chasing the goats if given the opportunity. Many of my clients find it therapeutic to interact with the animals, or simply sit outside feeling the sunshine and listening to the birds sing during a session. My experience has been that each person is influenced by his/her own life story, and requires a unique approach to therapy. My approach is to listen, build trust and understanding, and support each person with developing the skills needed to face specific life challenges and achieve individual goals. My background is in school social work at the high school level. Although I have worked mainly with adolescents and young adults, I am passionate about helping people at every stage of life. I have had experience working with clients with a variety of mental health diagnoses, but specialize in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety and depression.
