By looking backward, I can begin to live forward by becoming who I really am. Attachment shapes behavior and thinking. Survival skills from earlier life become maladaptive barriers to growth. Addiction and mental health problems often reflect a False Self. If I have the courage to confront the masking qualities of this False Self, I am ready for change and to allow the True Self, my authentic and spiritual nature, to emerge.
