Therapist Overview
Some of my clients are transgender wanting support with living authentic lives. Some have sexual orientations beyond what their grandparents learned about in school. Some are families working through the beliefs they carry about what it means to be someone other than expected. Many of my clients are working through trauma, old and new. Some want to heal from childhood wounds and some from relationship patterns that seem to repeat, over and over again. Some need help in moving beyond grief and some want pathways that lead to peace. I bring a lifetime of training and experience to my work. I worked with trauma and domestic violence in the early 80’s. A few years later, I became competent using Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and cognitive interview technique. I use both techniques to support the body-based trauma work that I do today (Somatic Experiencing). I am all the ages that I’ve ever been. I laugh with abandon, because I am loved. I create safety, having experienced a reality that makes judgments absurd. My pathway was through mindfulness meditation and shamanic training. It turns out that listening with an open heart, without judgment, as one divine being to another, heals in unexpected ways.
