Therapist Overview
I specialize in working with children, preteens, adolescents, young adults and families. I value the opportunity to help change young lives, and appreciate the individuality of each youth and family. I believe it is important to identify and nurture strengths, while addressing challenges. The most lasting change occurs in the context of the family, so I encourage parent and family participation in therapy. I have recently obtained my Registered Play Therapy (RPT) credential, and have a therapeutically-designed playroom in which I conduct my child sessions. I have a down-to-earth, non-judgmental style, and am not afraid to bring humor into sessions at times. I’m genuinely interested in each client, and convey that interest to them. I am a former elementary music teacher, and Registered Play Therapist. I believe in incorporating creative approaches, including play and the arts, and tailor my approach to each individual.
