I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Texas in 2009. I completed my Master’s Degree in 2017 at Southern Methodist University, taking courses with an emphasis in counseling individual, couples, family, groups and the LGBT community. I have experience working with people who have suffered various types of trauma, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, family violence and others; as well as, a variety of issues that present after trauma, such as anxiety, PTSD, depression and grief. I also have experiences supporting people who are dealing with suicidal or homicidal ideation and self-harm. The primary counseling theory that I utilize is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), which teaches people how their beliefs cause their emotional and behavioral responses to an event that occurs.
