Ultimately, therapy requires an individual, couple, or family to commit to making meaningful changes in their behavior and ways of thinking, both of which impact the way we feel. The work that goes into therapy requires great dedication-on the part of both the client and the therapist. It is the professional relationship that develops between them that forms the foundation of the change process. When I first meet with clients, we simply start to get to know each other. I will evaluate your symptoms using standardized psychological tests, and I’ll also ask about your interests, strengths, and goals. Then we’ll discuss the treatment approach(es) that may be best fitted for you. Helping clients to change is deeply rewarding work.
