Therapist Overview
We all face challenges. It’s how we respond to those challenges that matters. My role is to help clients is live their lives to the fullest. I have 25+ years of experience as a therapist with individuals, couples, and families in both community-based, nonprofit and private practice sectors. My background as a consultant and trainer includes work with residential facilities, hospitals, schools, the Department of Defense, and organizations throughout north America and 11 countries. I have authored or coauthored 14 books and am a Professor of Rehabilitation Counseling at Maryville University. I use a strengths-based approach, which involves identifying and connecting clients with their already existing capabilities to improve their lives in the present and future. I rely on up to date evidence about “what works” in therapy. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer clinical hypnosis, EMDR, and teletherapy, as needed. I am here to help my clients with their goals. Clients define what their best lives look like. I am a conduit for change and will do my best to help clients to reach their potential and the results they desire from therapy. If therapy is not progressing or is not helpful we will explore further options including referral.
