Therapist Overview
Now there are hard things to talk about – race, privilege, trauma, loss. It feels as though our universe is in flux. But even in uncertainty, there are reasons to hope. This may be a time for change in you as well. We all want to create a more just and compassionate world. What is hard for you? What holds you back? Thinking patterns, mindsets, belief systems or habits? Your past, present or future? Even when we are powerless to change the past, the outside world or another person, we can find ways to make peace with ourselves in a challenging world. You can only change you. And only you can change you. You don’t have to be alone. I have worked with individuals and families for a dozen years. Some of those experiences have been challenging, heartbreaking or frustrating. They have helped me learn about human behavior and our losses, our frailties and our strengths. I am strongly grounded in Family Systems theory but I also use Narrative, Structural and Trauma Focused interventions. I am a good judge of people. I respect your life and your experiences; they made you who you are. I am generally able to connect with anyone despite differences. I am compassionate but also tough when it comes to motivating people. My goal is to get you thinking about your life and then get you going with your life. Maybe we will change the world as well!
