Therapist Overview

I believe all people have internal knowledge that can be accessed in order to know how to resolve problems. I help my clients get in touch with and follow this inner knowledge. My background includes: a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University; certification as a Rolfer by the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, CO (2004); a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Smith College (2000). I am a certified Rolfer®, licensed massage therapist, as well as trained in Somatic Experiencing®. My Masters degree focused on neurodivergence and physical disability. I am passionate about trauma resolution. Trauma is anything that is overwhelming. Often we discount incidents that overwhelm us as “insignificant” yet they leave a multidimensional impact on our functioning and being. Working with emotional states stored as a “felt sense” in the body can promote permanent recovery and restore physical and emotional thriving. I enjoy working with my clients. I try to be as transparent about my approach and my understanding of the particular situation as possible, because I want my clients to question and challenge me, as needed. I believe that the duration of counseling should be defined by the needs of the client and always open for discussion.
