Andrew Verity Lmhc

I am a practicing licensed mental health counselor who has, most recently, been working in the field with clients who present with lgbtq, transgender, HIV and addictions issues. I’ve been fortunate enough to gain experience working with a diverse group of people. I also have experience in corrections counseling and have spent time engaged with the Deaf community here in Buffalo. Clients come to learn how to manage situations that are impacting their lives in a negative way. Like everyone else, they want to feel better. If a client learns how to manage a situation, they can control how they react to that situation. It’s about coping skills. It’s about learning how to live instead of learning how to avoid. I believe that I offer a perspective that not many others can offer. I have history that is similar to some of my clients’, which allows me to empathize appropriately with the population I’m serving.
